Craig is a proven leader with over 30 years of experience in the planning and delivery of a wide range of complex construction projects. After graduating from Ryerson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (Project Management), he has successfully delivered numerous projects in various project sectors, for instance, ICI, Residential, Data Centres, Interior Fit-Out, Waste Water and Civil. These include projects in various delivery methods (i.e., Construction Management, Design-Build, Lump Sum and many delivered under the P3 Model as Build Finance, Design-Build Finance, Design Build Finance Maintain and Design Build Finance Operate Maintain projects) together with a big component of pre-construction planning, design & risk management.
Having started in the industry as a Project Coordinator graduating to successive roles including Superintendent, Project Manager, Sr Project Manager, General Manager, Vice President of Operations, Senior Vice President and Business Group Leader. He brings a wide perspective and strong capability to the design, approvals and construction stages of each project. Having been an essential part of numerous award-winning projects such as the Toronto Construction Association (TCA) “Best of the Best” project achievement awards Green Building Culture, Community Leader Award, Outstanding Safety Culture Award (twice), Ontario General Contractors Associations Ontario Builder Awards on several projects, the Grand Valley Construction Building Excellence Award and Community Leader Award as well as twice winning Canada’s Safest Employer Silver Award for the Construction Sector and Young Worker Safety.
Craig’s appointment is a significant step forward for the company in many ways, including building of infrastructure, accommodating and preparing for growth, navigating the complexity of operating in multiple sectors, maintaining proper governance of our operations and business as a whole, improving our focus on health & safety (including COR), and organizing roles and responsibilities to ensure our focus remains where it needs to be, i.e. continuing to build the business based on values, culture and long term relationships.
Along the way Craig has been recognized for his personal volunteer efforts with being bestowed with an Honourary Degree Bachelor of Technology (Construction Management) from George Brown College is a two time winner of The Construction Institute of Canada Chancellor’s Award of Excellence in 2006 & 2012g, the OGCA’s Doug Chalmers Safety Award, is a Gold Seal Certified Project Manager and became Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB) in 2010 .
In addition to his industry and academic success, Craig has an undivided interest in serving his community. He is a past chairman of the Toronto Construction Association (TCA) and sits on the board of the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA) and is a chairman of its Safety Committee where he is actively providing methods for strategic leadership and building a safety culture in the Ontario construction industry including being a founder of the Safety League of Champions (LOC). Moreover, as Chairman of the advisory committee for George Brown College Construction program and Honorary Chairman of the TCIC National Student Bid Competition, Craig has built personal relations with young professionals and further assisted in educating future generations in the industry through his involvement and lectures regularly at GBC and Ryerson University.
