Etobicoke General Hospital is a leading healthcare facility servicing the local community in the west end of Toronto. In advance of a large P3 expansion to its facility, the client appointed Gillam to perform a series of phased exterior upgrades and interior renovations o its facilities, both the In-patient Tower and the South Service Building. Our scope of work for the In-patient Tower includes construction of new air shaft with architectural masonry chimney that serves as areaway for the chiller and boiler rooms, removal of existing and construction of new concrete pads for chillers, boilers, transformers and medical gas equipment, 22 ft high drywall partition walls for the medical gas equipment, ceiling works for re-routing of electrical conduits along the corridors, and other civil works and masonry for electrical and mechanical piping rerouting. At the South Service Building Gillam performed civil, structural and architectural works which include selective demolition, reconstruction of slabs on ground with new subbase, construction of new piers and steel beam supports for an additional cooling tower and condensate pipes, construction of new ships ladder, bollards, hollow metal doors and frames and 3 sectional overhead doors.
