Aalto Developments selected Gillam as the construction manager for this high-end residential condominium, beautifully situated on the waterfront of downtown Barrie. The building includes 2 levels of underground parking and 14 levels of residential suites totaling 193 suites of 1 & 2 bedrooms. The ground floor and concourse level hosts a restaurant overlooking the water and pedestrian walkway. The roof terrace will provide spectacular views of the lake and Kempenfelt Bay.

Key challenges include:

  1. Optimizing building envelope design for high performance and fast constructability.
  2. Design and construction of special foundations and underground structure, given the high-water table.
  3. Aligning scope and budget, particularly with value engineering of products, materials and systems for efficiency.
