Since 1953, LOFT has provided supportive housing to some of the most vulnerable people in our community including people living with mental health issues and who have histories of homelessness. LOFT currently operates 1,654 housing units in their portfolio that provide a range of supports to their clients. This includes a supportive housing building for 54 at-risk seniors in Bradford West Gwillimbury at 136 Barrie Street, called Bradford House.

Since 2012, LOFT has owned and operated Bradford House to support the housing and care needs of its clients who face complex mental and physical health issues, social isolation and/or poverty. Despite its successful operations, today there is a growing need for affordable and supportive seniors housing and Bradford House is at its physical capacity.

LOFT sought to expand their Bradford House program and secured a municipal site at 31 Fredrick Street for this purpose. Gillam was retained as General Contractor for this new 100-unit affordable and supportive seniors housing building. Most of the units will be studio apartments in this 5-storey building.
