F&P Manufacturing is a leading supplier of parts to the automotive industry in Ontario, located in Tottenham. F&P Manufacturing appointed Gillam as the builder for an 84,000 sq.ft. expansion to its stamping plant. The program included new press pits, manufacturing space, a high-bay warehouse, cafeteria and shipping/receiving space. The project was undertaken as part of an integrated team including the consulting team, project manager, builder and client. Innovative solutions and value engineering was developed during the preconstruction stage. All work was completed on time and budget according to a fast-track schedule. All work was performed in and around the operating facilities with no interference to manufacturing operations. Key challenges included: Managing a tight budget during the preconstruction stage including value engineering and target value design exercises. Developing construction logistics to minimize impact on the ongoing manufacturing operations. Working to a fast-track schedule.
