Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, Simcoe Place Health Clinic resides within one of Toronto’s finest office towers – Simcoe Place – at the corner of Front Street and Simcoe Street, directly across the road from the Toronto Convention Centre and connected to the PATH – Toronto’s underground world of shopping and pedestrian way finding. This 3,000 sq.ft. health clinic provides for state-of-the-art physiotherapy and health services. The project had to meet not only the stringent requirements of the client, but also of the building’s owner – Cadillac Fairview. Given its prime high traffic concourse location particular attention was paid to security and pedestrian flow. Gillam Group acted as the design/build contractor working in close harmony with the client and Cadillac Fairview. The project includes the full renovation of the space, providing new offices, reception area, patient and medical treatment facilities a small kitchen and washrooms. The project required new electrical, mechanical and IT systems throughout. As a fast track project, it commenced in September 2012 and was completed within 6 weeks.
